Hey y’all! This is My Hero Analysis, a podcast about My Hero Academia (aka Boku no Hero Academia). We are three grown adults who mine Japanese children’s cartoons for serotonin because GOD KNOWS our brains aren’t making it naturally.

Meet Your Hosts
Nicole
Pronouns: She/They
Cohost Nicole grew up in North Carolina and graduated from UNC Wilmington. There, she received her bachelor's in creative writing, and has since been working in and around the entertainment and publishing industries, including internships at entertainment websites and publishing houses. While she works on her many manuscripts and attempts to achieve the traditional publishing dream, she is not ashamed to admit that My Hero Academia quite literally saved her sanity at the end of 2020. Fern
Pronouns: They/He
Cohost Fern also grew up in North Carolina and graduated from UNC Chapel Hill. They have a bachelor's in communication studies, and this podcast is their first chance to actually use all that knowledge. When not crying about cartoons at parties, they can be found writing terrible fanfiction and original horror. Fern will admit that they did not want to watch MHA until the other hosts made them, but now they are the proud father of 20+ fictional teenagers who are all trying their best. Maria
Pronouns: She/They
Cohost Maria also also grew up in North Carolina and graduated from NCSU. She has a bachelor’s of science in Microbiology, with a minor in art studies. She has mainly worked in the science field but is in the process of writing her own book (but it’s rough going because her attention span is small). Maria has been an avid anime watcher and manga reader since she was a child. She binged the MHA available seasons in the span of days and enjoys psychoanalysing all the characters of the show. That and the memes of course. All of her socials are open on Twitter, Instagram and Tiktok, but she rarely posts.
We will do our utmost to approach our analyses from a place of understanding and appreciation for Japanese art and culture. We'll be monitoring ourselves carefully, but if you catch us slippin, please don't hesitate to let us know when we mess up.
